Devils Trap

This Venus fly trap is huge and burrows its roots deep under the ground and sends runners out from it to kill and strangle other plants. Smaller flowers on it contain toxic barbs coated in a neurotoxin. When something is stung by them the plant feels it and waits for the toxin to work then it binds its prey and eats it. The large red bulb at the base of the plant is a Young Devils trap that grows to replace the one before it. When the Devils trap gets old the Bulb blooms and kills the older plant. By doing this the next generation gets to eat the body of the older plant. This plant grows very quickly and can take over huge areas of land. Anything living within the area of where the roots grows will die.
